Wakefield, MA – Brook Venture Partners announced today that it is changing its name to 424 Capital. The name change is part of a rebranding initiative to better align the company with its current strategy and refined mission. The Firm will focus on majority investments in companies in B2B Tech-Enabled Services, specifically seeking opportunities to be the first institutional capital in profitable companies that have the potential to grow into market leaders. The Firm will also be highlighting its values orientation with respect to investing in companies with an eye towards positive impact.
Walter Beinecke, Brennan Mulcahey and Kyle Stanbro will be the Managing Partners of 424 Capital.
Walter Beinecke commented: “424 Capital’s strategy in the lower middle market plays into a niche that is hard to access for other investors. Staying small and nimble is important to our strategy and allows us to work shoulder-to-shoulder with our portfolio company management teams to build dominant market leaders.”
424 Capital will continue to target partnerships with profitable, founder owned businesses that are uniquely positioned for a hands-on partner to guide them as they accelerate and scale. Brennan Mulcahey commented: “Rebranding allows us to formalize our strong bias for companies that are making a positive impact on the population and the communities in which they operate. We believe that companies and teams with aligned values and a sense of purpose generate premium outcomes for all stakeholders.”
Kyle Stanbro commented: “Our team is 100% aligned with the renewed focus on mission. Over the years, our team has demonstrated our ability to be disciplined, patient investors, and with this change we are truly differentiating our strategy from that of our peers. We are grateful for the support from our investor base regarding this transition and look forward to continuing to deliver strong returns under our refined strategy and mission.”
The team will continue to steward all Brook Venture portfolio companies with active management of Brook Funds II, III and IV. The firm is celebrating the nearly 20-year contribution of Brook Partners Ned Williams and Fred Morris who will remain very active in managing their current Brook Venture investments.
