LearnWell has announced the appointment of Collin Earnst as chief executive officer. Earnst, who has served as interim CEO since February, will continue with the day-to-day leadership of the company and spearhead its expansion within the K-12 education and behavioral health markets.
LearnWell partners with school districts, hospitals, and other treatment programs and facilities to develop and administer educational programs for school-age patients. It provides students with high-quality instruction, using the same curricula as their peers, so they can maintain their academic progress during treatment and successfully reenter the classroom. When school districts partner with LearnWell, their students are at a dramatically lower risk of falling behind, requiring additional staff support, or being retained another year due to school absences.

LearnWell recently expanded its services to the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, and now serves 15 states across the country. In addition, under Earnst’s leadership, the company has announced a new Virtual Teaching service, which is designed to support homebound students as they transition from hospital treatment back to the classroom.
Earnst joined LearnWell after spending seven years at Lexia Learning, a Rosetta Stone Company. As vice president of marketing and strategy, he partnered with the company’s executive team in scaling the business from 1 million to 3.5 million students and driving nearly 400 percent sales growth in the U.S. market over five years. Previously, he served as a strategic consultant with The Haselton Group, which represented Lexia Learning as well as several other major education companies including Pearson Education, Zaner-Bloser, and Global Partnership Schools, and the national nonprofit tutoring company BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life). Prior to that, Earnst was vice president of corporate communications for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
