Bill acts as an Ombudsman for Brook, primarily in western New England. He seeks out companies that represent attractive current investment opportunities, or acquisition candidates for Brook portfolio companies, and meets with entrepreneurs to build a base of future prospects. Bill retired as a General Partner from Brook Venture Partners in 2005. He brought a number of individual investors to the firm and was active in the formation of Brook Fund I. He sat on the Board of Directors of four of the Brook Fund I investment portfolio companies and was a personal investor in 8 of those companies. He and his wife Nancy live in Northfield, MA on a farm near the Connecticut River. Bill attended Deerfield Academy and received his undergraduate education at Princeton University. He holds a MS degree in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He served as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. Currently he serves on the Board of the Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust, the Advisory Board of Thompson Island Outward Bound station in Boston Harbor, and the Vestry of St Michael’s Episcopal Church in Brattleboro, VT.
